About the Artist

Karen grew up in the Sacramento area, where she studied art in college.  Since that time, she and her husband have lived in Canada, Utah, Wisconsin, and North Carolina.  In 2007 they moved back west, where they settled in Reno.  Each location has provided her the opportunity to study under a number of accomplished artists.  Karen works primarily in watercolors and, over the years, has been accepted into numerous juried shows, winning awards for her work.  She has presented many one-woman shows and participated in art festivals.

Work has included watercolor renderings for commercial developers in North Carolina.  Her paintings have been exhibited in galleries in all the locations where she has resided and are in private collections nationwide.  Her artwork is part of the permanent collection at Renown Hospital South and is in the Provost’s office at the University of Nevada, Reno.  She is a current member of the Sierra Watercolor Society and has been a member of the Artists Co-op of Reno since 2013.
