About the Artist

Jean has lived in Northern Nevada since age two, which has given her a love and appreciation for the richness of Nevada landscapes, including the Sierras. Pursuing her interest in the watercolor medium, she has garnered unique techniques and different applications from a myriad of internationally known professional instructors through watercolor workshops and clinics.

A lover of the outdoors and a hiker, she found inspiration in the natural beauty and wonder of nature. During a hike in the mountains, she experiences the ever-changing light and shadows, the colors, and the different seasons. “It takes my breath away. I constantly see inspiration in the surrounding landscape”.

She has been a member of the Artist Co-operative of Reno since 2007.  She is also a longtime member of the Sierra Watercolor Society and more recently, the Latimer Art Club. Her work has been shown in various locations in Reno, Sparks, and the surrounding community. Her work is held in various private collections both nationally as well as internationally.
